Youth Centers
Our after-school programs at the youth centers are open to all young people, and offered at no cost to those we serve. We rely heavily on our volunteers and church partners to meet the needs of young people in these communities. In the past year, we have welcomed more than 2,000 young people through our doors.
Our goal is to provide a safe place for kids to get off the street and build relationships with caring adults. All of our programs are designed to model and teach the principals taught by Jesus in the Bible, and to help kids develop the character and moral foundation they will need to reach their full potential.
Mentoring
1 Hour a week…YFC Mentoring is one adult spending one hour a week with one young person. All mentors receive a 3-hour training programand have a criminal background check. We adhere to highest published standards of the Delaware Mentoring Council.
Mentoring happens two ways at YFC: through one of our youth centers, or in a public school through our partnership with Creative Mentoring. We have a list of young people waiting for someone to be their mentor. If you or someone you know would be interested in investing just one hour a week to make a change in the life of a young person please call the YFC office today to find out about upcoming training sessions.
